Mary and I, Jon (Lloyd) and Mary went on a short ride lasting 17 days and covering 2500 miles. Started in Ohio, Into Wv, Pa, WV again, Md, WV again (d**n were we ever lost), Va, NC, SC TN, Ga, Al, Ms, Ark. Mo, In, Il, and Ky. Visited Jim (Redneck) and Penny, rode the entire length of Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Dragon, , saw Elvis' birthplace (Tupelo), gambled at Tunica, Ms. and in general rode in some really beautiful places. Rode to the top of Grandfather Mtn, went to Gatlinburg and had some of the best barbeque at a place called the FireStation. We stay at the Mayberry Motel one night, had all the stuff from the original show, including th cop car and other memorabilia.
Each night we would plan a basic route for the next day while consuming large quantities of alcohol
. Went to the Natural Bridge in both NC and another one in Alabama. On the way home, ask Mary if she wanted to go to Chillicothe, she said she wanted to go home, so we rode home, I dropped her off and went back to Chilli and camped for a couple of days.
Great trip with excellent company.
