Hey Ya'll I wanted to give you some incite to to this ares. Penny and I have spent 4 or 5 three day week ends in this area over the last 2 1/2 years. We live 2 hours form there. There are a lot of things to do especially if you are a history buff like we are. You can spend a week in in Charleston and not see everything. The outdoor market is nice, taking a carriage through the city is a must. The architecture of the houses and churches is amazing. Take a Ghost tour, they are really cool. Got to the USS Yorktown, there you can get a package deal for $30.00 a person. This lets you tour the warships docked there. It will take you on a cruise boat to fort Sumter, very cool, and give you the carriage ride. All this for 30 bucks! Take a walk down Rainbow Row and through the Battery. Eat a lot of shrimp and oysters, they are very, very cheep there. You can tour a plantation, though they are very pricey. Take a ride on some back roads south and west of the city. Spanish Moss drapes the trees. Just watch for Gators crossing the road, we have seen a few of them. Here is the bad side. The city of Charleston as baned motorcycles from parking in all public PAVED lots and all public parking garages. If you take a carriage ride , they will let you park in their lot for the day. You can park in private lots and there is a public gavel lot just north of the Market that is free. I've use it before. It's near the brewery, they make some great beer!!
