I was recently approached with going to the fall bike week next week and was considering riding down. Anyone interested. Just to be clear I am completely unsure if I am going and can get of work this short notice but figured that I would throw it out there to see who else was going. Let me know whenever you get a chance. Thanks Brett

Brett, be careful, the city of Myrtle Beach doesn't like bikers and they are doing everything possible to keep bikers out and the fall bike rally from going on. They are passing a lot of new bike laws in the city to discourage bikers from going there. Stroker

stroker You are a little late with the warning, the pilgrimage was last week. Myrtle Beach has gone to hell the last few years, the city does not understand that tourist are what holds their economy together. We seriously considered buying a business down there about 3 years ago and moving down. They have done a lot of bonehead things the last few years, probably a good thing we didn't.

Thanks for the warning, There was a HUGE amount of Hype about the new laws in Myrtle, However after being scared to go into Myrtle I ventured in only to find out that there really was alot of bark and no bite. I saw NO one pulled over stopped even questioned in the parking lots about their bikes or any other "Activity" that was going on. The problem I guess lies in Myrtle beach itself, however all the events are now being held in Horry County around Myrtle beach. Horry county has 250,000 people Myrtle beach has 25000 people so you do the math. There was a protest ride that took place called the "Ride around Myrtle beach" that had a large turnout who literally rode around Myrtle beach. This ride was supported by the Horry county Sherriffs Dept and went over extremely well amoung us bikers. All and all I don't think they can stop it at this point. I was told by vendors and locals that the best thing the bikers can do is keep coming. I guess the mayor raised taxes to defend the city against the bike rally's. This may turn out to be a huge mistake on a election year. If the Bikers keep turning out in the numbers that we have been to keep the rally alive then the Mayor will have to answer some pretty tough questions about why the tax payers are paying higher takes and the bikes are still there. Bottom line if Bikers continue to show up at the Rallys there is NO ONE there who can stop it. We had a great time and look forward to going back for years to come. I only hope next year that maybe we can plan a ride down and back with some club members. If you would like more information on the new "Laws" that they passed please e-mail me or call me I picked up alot on info and will be happy to try and answer them for anyone who needs them.
I had a GREAT time on the covered bridge ride this year...... What a turn out. THis was my wife's 1st ride in a large group and I want to say thank you for making it a great expeirence for her she was really impressed. We will see you this weekend.
